***This person will act as a lead for the intake team and bring best practices expertise to the intake department.

Qualifications

  • High School Degree or equivalent required, Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • 1+ year of Client Intake experience acting as the point of contact for potential clients coming into a healthcare service setting.
  • Experience in behavioral health preferred, but not required.
  • Outstanding customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Professional and empathetic demeanor
  • Ability to multi-task, use good judgement and prioritize work effectively, as well as the ability to adjust to changing priorities
  • Cultural competence, being able to work effectively with people of all backgrounds
  • Willingness to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong computer skills and/or the ability to learn and work with applicable software
  • Exceptional phone, email, and in-person etiquette.
  • Act 34 Criminal, Act 33 Child Abuse, Mandated and Permissive Reporting Training, FBI Criminal Clearances are required prior to date of hire


Responsibilities

  • Field questions from prospective, new, and existing clients via email, phone or in-person while promoting the available services and programs offered at StepOne
  • Screen referrals for applied behavior analysis services
  • Work to obtain proper paperwork needed to start the intake process
  • Complete all necessary pre-authorization paperwork and follow-up with insurance companies and StepOne staff for prospective, new, and existing clients
  • Continued verification of client insurance coverage and track changes to codes and plans
  • Assist office staff with insurance denials due to authorization discrepancies
  • Assist with audit preparation
  • Communicating with clients and StepOne staff on scheduling, status updates, timelines and any additional information that may be required
  • Managing records including entering, organizing, and auditing client and insurance data
  • Comply with StepOne’s company policies and procedures.

Work Environment

This role is performed in an office with heavy computer work that requires the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing – including frequent talking, hearing, writing, typing, reading, and significant comprehension. The employee frequently is also required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and reach with arms/hands. Regular and consistent attendance required. Ability to work well under stress and managing workload of multiple priorities.
