This position is "front line" for the overall promotion and image of Placon. The Account Manager is responsible for leading assigned projects from the point of sale, through development and into production. This will require working directly with the customer as well as all internal departments and assisting Sales personnel when needed. Ability to multi-task and stay organized will be essential as the project needs will vary.
Essential Accountabilities
- Serve as communication liaison between Placon and external and internal customers for all assigned projects.
- Respond to general customer calls (i.e. checking order status, shipping information, etc.). Meet with customers as needed (including occasional travel with Sales personnel). Gather and send samples as requested.
- Maintain effective communication regarding project status, requirements, changes, etc. with the customer. Address all customer questions and concerns in a timely manner and provide accurate information. Inform Sales personnel of any critical customer issues.
- Coordinate and maintain all necessary project information and effectively communicate with all departments as needed.
- Accurately prepare and manage paperwork and reports according to customer requirements and needs. Coordinate project requirements with all departments to ensure deadlines are accomplished.

- Provide accurate information to other departments regarding customer requirements and supply goods in a timely manner.
- Attend/participate Customer visits as necessary.
- Manage assigned forming, packaging and/or assembly projects from production kick off through first production. Assist in the coordination and scheduling of projects to ensure optimal production efficiency.
- Coordinate incoming goods and related services for all assigned jobs (i.e. know what is being done on the job, when it will be done, how it will be done, etc.).
- Oversee completion of assigned projects through production.
- Attend daily meetings with Engineering, Operations, and Customer Service teams to discuss status of current and upcoming projects. Participate in Design Reviews as needed.
- Keep fellow Account Managers informed regarding assigned jobs that may affect their projects.
- Continually search for, recommend new, and better ways for the department to operate and service all customers.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or related field and some project management, customer service and/or manufacturing experience; or Associate's degree with five years related experience.
