Job Requirements / Description

The position of Community Liaison for Faith Health Appalachia consists of overseeing all operations of the Family Resource Network (FRN) and carrying out the Statement of Work for all FRNs in West Virginia as provided by DHHR. The Community Liaison's job is that of facilitator, initiator, and communicator for FRN.
Specific duties and responsibilities:

  • Assessing the needs of the community's children and families and the service delivery system
  • Developing plans to coordinate and improve services to the community's children and families
  • Evaluating the efforts of the Family Resource Network
  • Organize and run monthly meetings with community agencies for input and assessment and decisions on gaps and possible solutions
  • Serve under the day-to-day supervision of the Executive Director of FaithHealth Appalachia
  • Serve as a communication link among FaithHealth Appalachia (FHA), the advisory board, agencies, family representatives and other partners as the efforts of the FRN are accomplished
  • Convene groups to mobilize the community to determine and respond to issues affecting children and families
  • Initiate implementation of objectives and policies adopted by the CCFRN Advisory Board.
  • Communicate regularly with the Executive Director of FHA and the FRN Advisory Board members
  • Work with the Executive Director of FHA and FRN Advisory Board to enable effective meeting, planning and follow up
  • Provide supervision, support and feedback to FRN volunteers
  • Attend required meetings and activities as outlined in the DHHR grant agreement
  • Investigate grant opportunities to support the FRN's objectives and apply if appropriate
  • Serve as a point of contact between the FRN and DHHR and other
    agencies/entities
  • Promote the work of the FRN via a website as well as digital and print media
  • Handle all DHHR grant appropriate documents and report as required
  • Provide updates to statewide FRN website

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; an undergraduate degree is preferred although related work experience will be considered in lieu of degree
  • Ability to stimulate and encourage participation
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with consumers, agency officials, committees and FRN board members
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing
  • Knowledge of and residence in Cabell County
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
