The Role
The VP of Marketing & Design will bring together consumer package best practices, cutting edge modern marketing, and a passion for mission-driven brand building to drive new growth for the Honest brand. This role, reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, will lead our internal creative and integrated marketing communications teams in a newly created center of excellence, helping us to bring the brand to life across paid, owned and earned in ways that reinvigorates our Honest community. And- just as importantly- this leader will be a culture builder, a collaborative business partner, and an idea activator.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Unlock the power of the brand: Build brand strategy and activations that capture the hearts and minds of our Honest community of shoppers. Execute campaigns that improve brand penetration, align with business objectives, and stand out in a competitive landscape
Unlock the power of the team: Create a high performing team that emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and coaching/ development. Build new processes and ways of working to ensure a highly connected and agile team.
Drive results: Drive velocities of the Honest Products across both brick-and-mortar retail and digital channels while also expanding brand penetration and brand health. Analyze marketing data and metrics to track performance, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement. Ensure clear KPIs tied directly to business goals, and track/report performance across these KPIs
Collaborate : Collaborate with internal teams, including brand team, sales, product development, and finance, to align marketing initiatives with overall business objectives. Work closely with agency partners and business stakeholders to orchestrate marketing efforts in a way that is connected and streamlined.
Expand our toolset: Bring together the best of the old and the best of the new. Understand time tested industry best practices within CPG industry. Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to recommend new strategies and tactics. Lead thinking on evolutions in marketing and design, and how they apply to our organization.
Create Connection : Tie understanding of full funnel paid media, retailer media, creator/influencer activations, organic social, and PR to orchestrate a connected campaign activation. Lead the asset creation approach that aligns with integrated campaign planning- includes agency relationship management and exploration of unique content development models.
Maximize our Brand Creative : Understand drivers of effective creative across package design, campaign assets, and organic social content. Prioritize and streamline workload of the creative team against the most critical areas of the business.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business Administration, or related field required
- Master's degree in marketing, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 10+ experience in marketing or related roles within the consumer-packaged goods (CPG industry). Bonus points for Baby, Personal Care, Skincare, Wellness categories but not mandatory
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in leading and developing high performing teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Experience in a small/mid-size company - can thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
- Left brained and right brained thinking - Exceptional analytical and data driven mindset + Ability to drive emotional connection with the brand
- Strong understanding of marketing principles, strategies, and best practices. In depth experience in paid media, packaging, creator/influencer marketing, PR and social a must. Experience leading internal creative teams a plus.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven with a passion for driving continuous improvement.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and build culture across the organization
- This role is LA based role. Our HQ is in Playa Vista, CA.
The pay range for this role is $250,000- $275,000. Actual compensation is based on many factors including but not limited to depth of experience, skill level, ability, knowledge, education, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
The total rewards package for this position may also include base, annual incentive plan, benefits, retirement plan, equity, and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
