Job Overview:
We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented 3D Drafter to join our HVAC engineering team at HTS ModWerks. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating accurate and detailed 3D drawings and models of HVAC systems using Inventor and/or Solidworks software. This role will support the design and engineering teams by developing precise visual representations of custom HVAC equipment systems for a variety of building types, including commercial, industrial, and mission-critical facilities (Data Centers).
Key Responsibilities:
- 3D Modeling & Drafting: Create detailed 3D models of HVAC equipment using CAD software such as AutoCAD Inventor, Revit, and/or SolidWorks.
- Documentation: Produce accurate construction documents, fabrication drawings, and installation guides based on 3D models.
- Coordination: Collaborate with internal project engineers, building owners, engineering firms, and contractors to ensure drawings are aligned with project specifications, local codes, and standards.
- BIM Experience: Assist in Building Information Modeling (BIM) through the provision of Revit models for new HVAC equipment.
- Quality Control: Review and verify drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company standards and client requirements.
- Revisions & Updates: Modify drawings and models as needed based on feedback from the engineering team, client changes, or project scope adjustments.
- Library Maintenance: Maintain and update a library of standard HVAC components, symbols, and templates for efficient drafting and modeling.
- Project Support: Provide technical support to project teams and participate in design meetings as required.
- Education: Associate's degree or technical certification in Drafting, CAD, or a related field. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in HVAC or product drafting, with a strong background in 3D modeling with BIM coordination. Experience in the mechanical contracting industry or with consulting engineering firms is a plus.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD Inventor, Revit, and/or Solid Works.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of HVAC system components, including air handlers, chillers, fans, and piping configurations.
- Attention to Detail: High level of precision and attention to detail in drafting and modeling work.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interpret technical specifications and convey complex information clearly.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Ability to identify and resolve clashes or issues in designs early in the drafting process.
- Adaptability: Willingness to learn new software and technologies as needed and adapt to project-specific requirements.
