Job Summary: The University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) seeks a dynamic and experienced professional to join our University Relations team as the Executive Director of Parent & Family Development. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive strategies to engage parents & families in supporting UC Santa Cruz through philanthropic initiatives.
Appointment Information:
Budgeted Salary: $101,100 - $123,900/year. Salary commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.

Schedule Information:

Job Duties:
40% - Parent Development and Engagement
- Cultivate and steward relationships with parents, understanding their interests and motivations for supporting UC Santa Cruz.
- Actively solicit gifts at all levels with a significant emphasis on major gifts ($50K and above).
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of annual and campaign-specific fundraising efforts targeting parents.
20% - Communication and Outreach
- Develop compelling messaging and communication materials to effectively convey the impact of philanthropy on the university and its students.
20% - Collaboration & Supervision
- Collaborate with other university departments to ensure a cohesive and coordinated approach to parent engagement and fundraising.
10% - Strategic Planning
- Develop and execute a strategic plan for parent/family fundraising aligned with the university's overall fundraising goals.
10% - Data Analysis and Reporting
- Utilize data and metrics to evaluate the success of fundraising initiatives and make informed decisions for continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
- A track record of success in securing major gifts and meeting fundraising goals.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple units in a large and complex organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A passion for higher education and an understanding of complex institutions.
Special Conditions of Employment:
- Selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check.
- Ability to work a variable schedule including evenings and weekends.
