Purpose

The Communications and Digital Marketing Coordinator will support the strategic and tactical communications needs of the Undergraduate College and its associated student-facing programs and initiatives. This versatile/generalist role requires excellent writing, digital communications, project management, and strategic thinking skills. The coordinator will oversee the coordination and creation of print and digital communication projects for key college programs.

Responsibilities
  • Digital Content Management
    • Update the Undergraduate College website using Drupal, ensuring accessibility, content updates, and consistency
    • Work with business units on website best practices and providing guidance for adding content
  • Email Marketing
    • Develop and send email campaigns using internal email tool
    • Review metrics and make recommendations for improvement
    • Monitor and approve email requests from various units
  • Project Management
    • Create and manage project schedules in Asana, collaborating with departments to track and update project progress
  • Social Media Management
    • Run Undergraduate College social media channels, primarily Instagram, ensuring engaging and timely content
    • Work with business units on social media best practices
  • Design and Copywriting
    • Update or create marketing collateral and assets using Photoshop, InDesign, or Canva
    • Write and proofread content for various communication channels, including web, social, and email
  • Additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience in communications, marketing, journalism, English, or a related field (Relevant education and experience may be substituted for degree as appropriate.)
  • Demonstrated ability to create content and communicate clearly using different channels for various audiences
  • Experience in content management systems (e.g., Drupal, WordPress, etc.) and email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, etc.)
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana)
  • Familiarity with graphic design software (e.g., Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Knowledge of social media best practices and trends
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in higher education communications, specifically at The University of Texas at Austin
  • Familiarity with Undergraduate College programs and initiatives
  • Experience developing comprehensive communications and marketing plans

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Salary Range

$60,000+ depending on qualifications
