The Position:
We are seeking an exceptional Career Services Advisor who is passionate about helping people find career success through education. Our Career Services team plays a vital role in the success of all of our students. This position reports directly to the Director of Career Services but may require day-to-day interdepartmental interactions with Program Chairs(s), Faculty, Registrar, Director of Student Services and Financial Aid as relates to the Extern and Graduate process. This position will support students at our Brecksville location as well. However, the position does not require regular travel between locations and may have infrequent visits for special events.
What You'll Do:
- Work closely with graduates of assigned program(s) to assist with post graduation job search: develop leads, conduct follow up, review and revise employment documents, etc
- Regularly and consistently produce placements as a result of actively marketing graduates to employers.
- Obtain, verify and record placement data of graduates - including but not limited to employment and waiver information.
- Maintain regular and consistent contact with graduates of assigned programs.
- Educate graduates on job search techniques, job market trends, and professional etiquette; provide tangible job search tools, guidance and assistance as needed.
Support Current Students (and Externs where applicable)
- Facilitate Career Development workshops and assist students with preparation and revision of employment documents and preparation for after graduation employment.
- Conduct exit interviews and needs assessment meetings with students and externs.
- Coordinate timely placement of externs in facilities that meet the educational requirements of the respective program's externship course.
- Assist in administering contracts, insurance certificates and other documents for externships and job placements.
- Develop job orders from extern sites in effort to meet and exceed extern to hire goals.
- Ensure programs assigned to the CSA meet or exceed state or accreditor requirements.
Track Employers
- Develop and maintain relationships with employers and extern sites for the purposes of externship job leads and job placement of graduates.
- Consistently develop job leads that result in placement of campus graduates in their respective field of study.
- Provide support to employers seeking to fill positions within their organizations with campus graduates - conduct employer needs assessment and follow-up on a timely basis.
- Request and gather feedback from employers in the form of surveys, interview feedback, etc.
- Maintain an employer database (CampusVue).
- Support and/or organize PAC Meetings in partnership with the Director of Career Services, Career Services Advisor(s), and Education.
- Assist in the organization of job fairs on campus, attend outside job fairs, invite employers to speak to current students, and arrange on-campus interview.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred
- Microsoft Office experience required: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience in career services preferred or employment background in any of the following:
- Job Placement department at a Vocational School, College, or University
- Staffing Agency
- Recruiting
- Marketing/New Business Development/Sales
- Customer Service
- Strong proven organizational skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Exceptional social interaction skills
- Team player
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, perform well under pressure, meet deadlines, and work flexible schedule
- Experience with Campus Nexxus application a plus
- This is an in-person office position for Maumee, OH. Must live within a commutable distance to the office.
