Summary:

Goldschmitt and Associates is seeking a Senior Auditor to provide support for the Small Business Administration's STEP Program. The Financial Analyst assists in managing the audit process and may lead certain aspects of the review. The Financial Analyst is responsible for gathering and analyzing financial data, preparing spreadsheets, and testing specific transactions for compliance with grant requirements. They are responsible for conducting a more detailed examination of financial records and internal controls.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct transaction testing and review internal controls.
  • Perform detailed analysis of cost principles and budget compliance.
  • Draft sections of the audit report based on findings.
  • Make recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Analyze financial statements, general ledgers, and expenditure reports
  • Conduct sampling and testing of specific transactions, ensuring that costs are allowable, allocable, and reasonable.
  • Compare budgeted vs. actual expenses and identify discrepancies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possess at least 3 years of experience in accounting, auditing, or financial analysis
  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Possess the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • Possess the ability to travel as needed
