SUMMARY
In this role, you will provide day-to-day HR support to the Performance and Essential Materials staff groups and manufacturing sites with a focus on the Longview, Washington location. The Sr HRBP works closely with business leaders to ensure that HR strategies are aligned with organizational objectives, resulting in enhanced employee engagement, effective performance management, successful talent acquisition, and impactful development initiatives. Also, actively participate in the development and execution of HR programs, policies, and processes, while cultivating a work environment that encourages positivity and inclusivity.
The ideal candidate for this role should have a strong understanding of HR principles, demonstrate exceptional communication skills, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment characterized by continuous transformation. The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for supporting leaders and employees with a wide range of HR initiatives, operational processes and procedures, tactical issues and employee relations efforts. The HRBP builds positive working relationships and acts as a contact for leaders and employees within the assigned client group.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Demonstrates strong safety culture through personal behavior and commitment to environmental, health & safety.
- Engages leaders and employees in delivery of HR processes, procedures, and practices.
- Builds strong relationships within assigned business units or functional areas to understand objectives, challenges, and talent needs.
- Offers consultative guidance on performance management, talent management, leadership development, organizational alignment, culture, and employee engagement to support organizational effectiveness.
- Coaches leaders and employees on people management and employee relations matters and ensures compliance with applicable employment laws.
- Coordinates all aspects of staffing as needed, from the hiring stage to the offboarding stage.
- Serves as labor relations contact on site.
- Partners with HR centers of excellence and corporate resources as necessary to achieve results.
- Utilizes HRIS systems to execute accurate employee transactions in company’s system of record.
- Keeps abreast of all company policies to be able to provide guidance to employees as required.
- Leads the performance management process for assigned groups. Identifies gaps in individual, team and leader performance, as well as organizational structure, and drive performance improvement.
- Leads or participates on special projects as required. Implements change management initiatives.
- Drives leadership development, employee coaching, and performance management initiatives with effectiveness and impact.
- Takes proactive ownership of the strategic people agenda at the functional level, ensuring alignment with the overall HR strategy.
- Compiles and analyzes HR data to provide insights and recommendations based on the data.
- Assists with HR compliance activities, such as data reporting, auditing, and ensuring HR records are maintained in accordance with legal requirements.
- Stays updated on HR best practices, industry trends, regulatory changes, new technologies to contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes.
- Ensures adherence to HR policies and procedures, conduct audits, and provide guidance to managers and employees to maintain compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree is required, with a preference for a degree in Industrial Relations, Labor Relations, Human Resources, or a related field in Business Administration.
- SHRM or HRCI certified professional preferred.
- 8+ years of Human Resources or related experience to include labor relations.
- Demonstrates knowledge of federal and state employment laws. Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, and policies.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills; detail oriented.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite. Intermediate experience in Excel strongly preferred.
- Ability to learn new databases and applications is required. Experience in Workday is preferred.
- Ability to travel, approximately 20% travel to Longview, Washington and other US manufacturing locations as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 5 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Significant digital dexterity, e.g. using computer keyboard is required. Use of oral communication to perform work is required. Ability to travel by air or car to other manufacturing locations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an open office concept. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.
