Job Description:
LSG Sky Chefs is seeking a dedicated and skilled Hot Food Cook to join our culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals in a fast-paced environment while adhering to food safety standards and maintaining a clean and efficient workspace.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety requirements, including proper handling and storage of ingredients.
  • Ability to work in a chilled environment as required and remain on your feet for up to 8 hours.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs safely.
  • Prepare and cook assigned production quantities to customer specifications using the CBASE system.
  • Wear company-issued uniforms and safety shoes at all times.
  • Keep your workstation clean and organized, ensuring a safe work area.
  • Ensure cooked food is temperature tracked using HACCP logs for CCP 3 and CCP 4, as well as the thawing HACCP log when necessary.
  • Work closely with Executive and Sous Chefs to ensure culinary excellence and support material leadership and staff regarding material usage and thawing.
  • Assist any food employees or leaders in providing excellent service to our customers.
  • Perform all tasks with a focus on high safety and quality standards, and proactively communicate any safety hazards.
Qualifications/Experience:
  • Culinary Arts degree preferred, or skills demonstrated through practical and verbal testing.
  • Familiarity with sautéing, cutting/chopping, and kitchen tools.
  • Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques and practices.
  • One to three years of related work experience required, with proven experience as a Cook or in a similar role in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in cooking from recipes and menus based on written customer specifications.
  • Willingness and ability to learn Asian cuisine.
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to learn, understand, and utilize CBASE reports.
  • Collaborative mindset to work effectively with other departments.
  • Working knowledge of HACCP, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and FIFO.
  • Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills, with an aptitude for multitasking.
  • Good understanding of the food service industry and the nature of its changes.
