A technology firm in San Jose, CA specializing in the manufacturing and distribution of unfinished electronic components is searching for a Business Development Executive to join their team! This role is designed for an ambitious individual who is ready to explore and penetrate the North American market, primarily around San Jose, utilizing their deep industry knowledge to establish new client connections, position offerings against competitors, and lead dynamic sales strategies. You will play a key role in expanding the company s market footprint, aligning product solutions with specific customer needs, and driving significant revenue increases. They are looking for candidates with direct industry experience and a proven track record of sales or purchasing electrical components who are Mandarin bilingual in order to facilitate smooth collaboration with technical teams in Asia effectively. The position is fully remote, but requires candidates to be located within 1 hour of San Jose, CA, with a willingness to travel and visit clients as needed.
Salary Range: $150, 000 - $180, 000 / year DOE + bonus
Business Development Executive Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of direct industry experience in the sales or purchasing of electronic components such as connectors and cables
- Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, capable of conducting business and technical discussions with team in Asia
- Strong understanding of the electronic components market and the ability to identify significant sales opportunities
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and understand the complex needs of clients in the technology sector
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with a proven track record of closing deals and achieving sales targets
- Technical background with a degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Mechanical Engineering (ME) is highly preferred
- Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a global team
- Familiarity with the manufacturing processes and supply chain dynamics of electronic components
- Develop and execute strategies to identify and secure new customer accounts within the North American market, focusing on the San Jose area
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at target companies to secure and expand business opportunities
- Analyze market trends and customer needs to position effectively against competitors
- Collaborate with technical and engineering teams in Asia to develop customized solutions that meet client requirements
- Manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting and qualification to negotiation and closing
- Provide detailed reports on sales activities, revenue projections, and market analysis to senior management
- Coordinate with the product development team to influence future product offerings based on market feedback
- Travel domestically up to 25% of the time to attend client meetings, trade shows, and industry conferences
