JOB DESCRIPTION

As our Plant Director, you will manage plant operations by overseeing scheduling, manpower, and machinery to meet customer requirements. You will develop and control costs within budget, implement programs to achieve corporate safety goals, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements. Additionally, you will facilitate and commercialize new processes, materials, and products through plant facility equipment.

Solving challenges is the very foundation of who we are. Our founder, sea captain Robert Fergusson, didn't particularly care about paint when he founded our company in 1921; he just wanted to keep his ship intact and stumbled upon a valuable solution. Today, that discovery is Rust-Oleum Corporation.

The same passion that drove the Captain to create the world's first rust-preventative paint still drives us today. We work diligently until we've perfected a solution, leading to some of the most cutting-edge, durable, and innovative products in the industry. Our creative and talented team of over 2000 people across the globe helps us remain the global leader in protective paints and coatings for both home and industry.

Here's what you can expect every day:

  1. Oversee activities directly related to making products or providing services.
  2. Review financial statements, production reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement, determining areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.
  3. Manage staff, prepare work schedules, and assign specific duties.
  4. Direct and coordinate the organization's financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiency.
  5. Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with R-O Corporate manufacturing and HR personnel as necessary.
  6. Determine staffing requirements, interview, hire, and train new employees, or oversee those personnel processes.
  7. Plan and direct activities such as promotional orders and new products, coordinating with other department heads as required.

Required Experience:

  1. 13-15 years of professional experience with a minimum of 3-5 years in a Plant Manager role.
  2. People/Team Development.
  3. Strong communication skills with both internal associates and external vendors/customers.
  4. Ability to fast track knowledge and ideas.
  5. Strong follow-through and engagement.
  6. Focus on continuous improvement.

Rust-Oleum is an equal opportunity employer. Employment selection and related decisions are made without regard to sex, race, age, disability, religion, national origin, color, or any other protected class.
