Job Requirements / Description

General Description: Responsible for effective forecasting and financial reporting for assigned areas. Work closely with various departments/divisions, including finance, sales, regional management, and the National Accounting Center. Ensure forecast and other reporting reflect the most current data available.

This position offers a hybrid schedule with the employee working 2 to 3 days per week in our Falls Church office and the remainder from home.

Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze monthly production results to determine the breakout of production revenue. Produce a revenue roll-forward by line of business and operating company prior to month-end close deadline.
  2. Review accuracy of transactions in Sagitta and BenefitPoint entered by Accounting Center and loaded from other source systems.
  3. Prepare monthly forecast by line of business and operating company.
  4. Ensure accuracy of HR data; review actual results trend to forecasted trend.
  5. Review and update new and lost business data with practice leaders and managers.
  6. Review revenue forecast for CRM pipeline.
  7. Review revenue trailing trends, modify forecast as necessary.
  8. Update expense forecast.
  9. Prepare narrative analysis for operating company results. Includes prior year, prior forecast, and budget comparisons. Communicate to all appropriate parties.
  10. Review producer compensation calculations.
  11. Complete monthly financial close and reporting. Includes production analysis, producer compensation, audits, charge backs, closing journal entries, and preparing management reports.
  12. Coordinate and review compensation settlements for sales professionals in the region.
  13. Provide Accounting Center with entries needed in the general ledger if issues found in review.
  14. Prepare annual budget by line of business and operating company. Work with Practice, OpCo leaders, and Operating managers to ensure inclusion of all expenses, revenue, and new initiatives.
  15. Validate/audit corporate producer awards incentive data quarterly.
  16. Prepare Corporate analysis reports for Operating Company/Region on monthly or ad-hoc basis.
  17. Collaborate with Corporate Finance/IT department to continually improve data flows, reporting systems, and analysis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. 3 years + of experience in accounting or finance. Experience in the insurance field a plus.
  2. Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or accounting.
  3. SAP experience preferred.
  4. Strong analytical skills.
  5. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction.
  6. Strong technical skills with Microsoft Office products, including Excel.
  7. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  8. Ability to work with all levels of staff and management to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
