Job Summary

The HR Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the human resources function within the Portage, WI facility. This position serves as the primary point of contact for employees, handling general HR-related questions and requests. The HR Coordinator ensures the accuracy and integrity of employee data, maintains confidential records, and assists with various HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, communication, event planning, benefits administration, and more.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as a primary point of contact for employees. Provide support and guidance to employees on various HR-related matters.
  • Update and maintain employee data in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
  • Maintain the accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of HR files, records and documentation.
  • Conduct periodic audits of HR files, data entry records, and time-keeping records to ensure proper documentation and data.
  • Assist in plant recruitment activities, including scanning interview notes, running background checks and assisting with phone interviews and scheduling, if needed.
  • Site lead for the Intern Program
  • Partner with training to assist with new hire orientation, including creating new hire packets, ordering lunches, and completing new hire onboarding checklists.
  • Conduct new hire orientations as a back-up.
  • Monitor completion of 30/60/90-day evaluations
  • Lead the planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, town hall meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and milestone anniversary celebrations.
  • Provide administrative support for the plant including, but not limited to, coordinating birthday/anniversary cards, ordering funeral flowers and baby blankets, and taking new hire photos.
  • Maintains required plant postings and other HR-specific communication boards
  • Daily HR operations
  • Assist with day-to-day HR functions and duties as identified by the Sr. HR Manager

Required Qualifications

What do you bring?

  • 2+ years experience in Human Resources as an HR Coordinator, HR Generalist, or similar position
  • Experience working in a manufacturing setting is prefered
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of federal and state employment laws.
  • Familiarity with recruitment processes, conducting interviews, and new hire orientations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data management and benefits administration.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact positively with employees at all levels while maintaining confidentiality.
  • The ability to plan and prioritize work, meet deadlines and adapt to unexpected demands.
