Job Responsibilities
Under general supervision, provides intensive home-based, time-limited services to families who are in crisis and at immediate risk of dissolution. Services are available 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Provides treatment to clients and client's family using MDFT(Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy) approach to treatment. Factor's contributing to this crisis may include anti-social behavior patterns. Chronic marital problems, chronic parent-child relationships, neglect and/or abuse problems. The primary goal is to keep families safe and intact.
Orangeburg Area Mental Health Center / OAMHC is an approved site of the National
Health Service Corps, (NHSC), which offers student loan repayment of up to $50,000 to
employees of NHSC-approved sites. You must be a US citizen, you must be licensed to practice independently in the state where you are hired, and you must have unpaid government or commercial school loans. There is a two year service commitment required as well. Confirmation of qualifying for this loan repayment program is the responsibility of every applicant - we cannot guarantee your qualification.
Who We Are
Orangeburg Area Mental Health Center is part of the South Carolina Department of Mental Health. Orangeburg Area Mental Health Center/OAMHC provides mental health services to individuals in Orangeburg, Calhoun, Bamberg and Holly Hill Counties.
1. Provide assessments and ongoing clinical treatment to families assigned to Intensive Family Services (IFS) based on the nine principles of Muti-Dimensional Family Therapy (MDFT).
2. Provides case coordination to assigned caseload.
3. Maintains liaison with personnel from other agencies/resources in order to facilitate treatment of assigned cases (including DJJ).
4. Collect, organize and record data and information for each clients' medical record according to QA guidelines.
5. Completes MDFT/IFS paperwork according to MDFT service requirements, i.e. treatment plan, participating in weekly MDFT group and phone consultation (as well as treatment team meetings as needed).
Minimum and Additional Requirements
The State minimum T & E: A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.
The Agency minimum: A master's degree in counseling, social work or psychology or other related areas with less than 1 year experience in a clinical field.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of normal and abnormal behavior adjustment techniques. Knowledge of clinical
practices and interviewing techniques. Knowledge of legal principals and practices. Knowledge of investigative techniques, principles and practices. Knowledge of methods, principles and practices of clinical counseling services. Knowledge of federal, state and local laws or regulations pertaining to a social service program. Ability to exercise discretion in interpreting and applying established objectives. Ability to effectively plan, coordinate and manage complex treatment interventions.
