Position Summary
Arts & Science is seeking a talented Academic Advisor to join the College of Arts & Science Academic Advising team. The Academic Advisor, Transfer Students is a member of the College Advising team, specifically the New Students Team, reporting to the Associate Director of Transfer Student Advising. This position focuses on creating innovative programs and services for new transfer/transition students in the College. Plays a lead role in the development and implementation of comprehensive transfer advising and orientation, transfer student leader development, and activities & programming for transfer/transition students. Assists with collecting and analyzing retention and student satisfaction data in an effort to recommend new programs and services to meet the changing needs of transfer/transition students. This Academic Advisor also provides an overview of curriculum, policies and procedures for all of their advisees. They collaborate with colleagues across Admissions, Registrar and other NYU schools’ departments, and the Center for Student Life to facilitate successful execution of programs and processes. Analyze data received through student inquiries, market research, and input and recommend new programs and courses to meet changing needs.
Qualifications
Required Education:Bachelor's DegreePreferred Education:Master's Degree in higher education/student affairs strongly preferredRequired Experience:3+ years experience in counseling, advising, student services, program development or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Ability to interpret and communicate policies to individuals at all levels. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Information
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $75,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
