The Dental Assistant Lead Trainer provides training to support La Clinica's clinical care teams by developing, delivering, and assessing standardized training for new and existing Dental Assistants (DAs) across both of La Clinica's dental care sites.
Accountabilities Include :
Performs Essential Job Duties
Develops and maintains professional, support-oriented working relationships with patients, employees, team members, and community partners. Demonstrates continuous improvement in achieving "developing" and "fully competent" levels of La Clinica's Behavioral Standards.
Qualifications :
Must be able to interact with a variety of individuals at various levels under stressful circumstances while exercising sound judgement, tact, and diplomacy; work productively both independently and in a team setting; able to present material clearly and with confidence; demonstrate a high level of computer literacy; proficient with Microsoft Suite; skilled with virtual and in-person training delivery, curriculum design, and adult learning principles; quick learner; able to handle frequent change and adapt to diverse environments; passionate about education and technology within the healthcare field.

The Dental Assistant Lead Trainer provides training to support La Clinica's clinical care teams by developing, delivering, and assessing standardized training for new and existing Dental Assistants (DAs) across both of La Clinica's dental care sites.
Accountabilities Include :
Performs Essential Job Duties
- Design and deliver a robust training and onboarding program for DAs in collaboration with on-site skills trainers in a variety of venues, including but not limited to: New Hire Orientation, on-site training in the clinical sites, classroom-based education in the Center for Learning and Innovation, and online webinar presentations.
- Provide "train the trainer" sessions for on-site skills trainers to ensure consistency in training priorities and methods across all clinical sites.
- Assess new DAs and build training and development plans in collaboration with on-site skills trainers.
- Periodically assess skills of all employed DAs in collaboration with on-site skills trainers and Team Leads, creating (when applicable) and providing continuing education opportunities and updated training sessions as needed. Monitor to ensure understanding and accountability of trained processes.
- Support employees, team leads, and managers as requested in employee-specific training plans to include coaching, technical training, and follow-through of content quality.
- Evaluate organizational training processes and procedures and contribute to the maintenance of systems for evaluation and training improvement.
- Create and maintain assigned training outlines, presentations, and other training tools to align with policies, procedures, and best-practices as they are updated.
- Engage in continued collaboration with the Learning Well, Primary Care, Dental, Behavioral Health, and Field and Partnership Based Care teams to ensure alignment of training programs across clinical disciplines
- Analyze operational processes and workflows essential to curriculum design. When needed, create new workflows essential to curriculum design in collaboration with applicable stakeholders.
- Remain knowledgeable about relevant key performance indicators and quality-based measures.
- Maintain detailed and accurate training records and partner with clinical site leaders and on-site skills trainers to review annual competency evaluations.
- Enter training documentation into employee Relias profiles.
- Attend and help facilitate required team and discipline-specific meetings.
- Cultivate flexibility to learn culture, assess training needs, and support/serve in a float role and perform DA duties in clinical sites as appropriate. The ratio of training and development time to clinical float time may vary seasonally and based on the training needs of the dental program.
- Continuously develop clinical and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, engaging in training and professional development, and staying up to date with state and federal requirements related to all Dental Assistant roles.
- Acquire and maintain trainer certification for training programs and offerings, as requested.
- Complete assigned trainings via La Clinica's learning module system (Relias) by required due dates.
- Maintain safe and healthy training environments by following organization standards and legal regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience :
Minimum:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience training, coaching, or mentoring others.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Skilled at using electronic health records as applicable to area of work
- Oregon Board Radiology Certified
- Oregon EFDA Certified
- Soft Reline and Sealant Certified
- The employee shall have a valid Oregon driver's license and insurance
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or obtain within 3 months of hire)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Experience in leadership and managing teams
