Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager

Tetra Tech is looking for a Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager to support our well-established clients with a variety of complex, "once in a lifetime" river engineering projects in the Pacific Northwest. If you’re an experienced project manager looking to apply your river engineering expertise towards solving highly unique challenges within the Greater Seattle area and beyond, this is the role you’re looking for!

As the Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Be the primary project manager for large, complex, multi-disciplinary projects for fish passage design, stream restoration, hydrology and hydraulics, levee analysis and design, and flood protection projects.
  • Become the go-to engineer for our clients, further deepening our relationships with several key local agencies that rely on us to solve their large river engineering challenges.
  • Establish yourself as a technical lead for river engineering in our Seattle office, serving as a mentor to early-career engineers, scientists, and other consultants.
  • Collaborate with our business development team to plan and execute strategies for developing new or expanding existing business opportunities that align with Tetra Tech’s focus on innovative, sustainable solutions for a resilient water future.

To be a successful Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager, you’ll need to be:

  • A licensed civil engineer (WA state) with at least 10 years of progressive engineering experience. Your experience should include serving as the "engineer of record" for related water resource projects and demonstrate expertise in performing hydrologic/hydraulic analyses and design for large, complex river engineering projects.
  • A highly-capable river engineering project manager, with at least 5 years of experience managing large river projects in the Pacific Northwest. Your project management experience should demonstrate the ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team for technically complex projects.
  • Someone who thrives working in a dynamic environment with some of the top engineering and scientific talent in the Greater Seattle area. We’re leading some of the biggest river engineering projects in the region, and we demand the same excellence within our teams that our clients expect from Tetra Tech.
  • Highly personable, seeking avenues to collaborate at every opportunity. You should be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills and develop effective working relationships with both clients and colleagues.
  • Capable of working regularly in our Seattle office, located steps away from Pike Place Market. While we do support flexible work arrangements and hybrid work schedules, you should be able to maintain a regular presence in our Seattle office.

Likewise, here’s what you can expect from Tetra Tech as a Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager:

  • An unparalleled focus on health and safety. As our CEO, Dan Batrack, says, “While we work on tens of thousands of projects every year, there’s not a single one of those projects that are more important than every one of our employees going home every day safely.”
  • An opportunity to work with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, scientists, geologists, planners, biologists, and more to develop creative and innovative solutions for some of the most technically challenging projects in the Pacific Northwest.
  • A focus on equitable inclusion as an organizational priority. We are committed to providing all employees with a safe, inclusive work environment so that we can continue shaping the future of water, the environment, sustainable infrastructure, renewable energy, and international development for the communities in which we live and work.
  • A fair and equitable compensation package, which includes a competitive base salary + bonus eligibility, flexible health benefit and paid time off options. The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $195,000; individual compensation will vary within this range based on your skills, qualifications and experience as they relate to the requirements for this position.
