Position Summary:
The Seattle Kraken are seeking a highly creative and dynamic Manager to join the social and digital team. This role will help develop and lead channel specific strategies on social, manage the social media publishing calendar and oversee day-to-day content creation and posting. The Manager, Social Media should be a highly effective communicator and collaborator with a strong skillset in relationship management while also thinking outside-of-the-box and being solution oriented. This role will have one full-time direct report and should have some experience in managing and developing people.
Responsibilities:
- Build, oversee and execute social media campaigns and content that drive fan engagement and education, delivering follower growth.
- Write copy and publish content to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Threads and other social media.
- Attend games, events and other Kraken functions to capture, create and post content.
- Build positive and productive relationships across team, players, coaches, staff and other content contributors to ensure delivery of assets, elevating issues and concerns when necessary.
- Work with the creative team to develop and produce strong visual concepts and assets for social channels.
- Deliver ideas, best practices, platforms and other channel enhancements to advance key marketing and communication strategies and targets.
- Support Kraken communications and sales initiatives within social channels.
- Work across departments and functions to build strong cross-channel programming for fully integrated fan engagement experiences.
- Leverage calendars and project management tools for content planning and tracking.
- Monitor all social media channels for feedback and sentiment, proactively engaging, responding or escalating issues when appropriate.
- Assist management and maintenance of Seattle Kraken website and mobile app.
- Oversee the development and delivery of team’s metrics and reporting programs, including reporting of social media monetization.
- Apply analytics and insights into publishing strategy and content development.
- Serve as on-site organizational representative for designated events.
- Oversee a staff (currently one direct report), providing direction, coaching and performance development opportunities.
- Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- A minimum education level of BA/BS Degree (4-year) equivalent combination of education and experience in the field.
- At least 4 years of related work experience, preferably in hockey.
- Deep understanding of the ever-evolving social landscape in addition to both current and upcoming trends.
- Knowledge and experience with basic video production and still photography.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and social media management tools.
- A creative thinker with excellent communication, organization, collaboration skills who demonstrates outstanding attention to detail.
- Copywriting and creative design mastery.
- Independent decision-making skills; ability and knowledge to apply judgement in resolving problems of moderate scope and complexity.
- Ability to lead and influence outcomes across the organization.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an expert ability to present and communicate new ideas and concepts.
- Extremely organized and detail oriented, resourceful, quick learner and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to build, manage and maintain relationships across departments, particularly with players, coaches and other hockey operations staff.
- A high degree of personal integrity and consistently put the interests of the organization first; trusted ability to protect confidential information.
- Must be a fierce communicator and cross-organizational collaborator.

Compensation:
In accordance with Washington’s Equal Pay and Opportunity Act, the expected salary range for this position is $72.5-$80k. Actual base pay will depend on employee’s experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full salary range for salary grade is $72.5 $87.5.

Working Conditions:
This role is based on-site in our Seattle office and requires work to be performed in person. However, we do value flexibility as the business will allow, and offer occasional opportunities to work from home.
Minimal Travel (<10% travel): May be required to travel. Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay away from home for one or more nights.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays required.
Frequent bending, lifting 15-20 pounds, sitting, exposure to multiple external elements, extensive walking through the building including inclines and stairs.
