Open Systems Technologies Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist to provide front-end data engineering support for the ADVANA program at the Department of Defense (DoD). The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining data pipelines, ensuring data quality and integrity, and supporting data-driven decision-making processes. This position requires a strong background in data engineering, data analysis, and programming, along with a deep understanding of data science principles and methodologies.


Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and design efficient data pipelines for the ADVANA program.
  • Develop and maintain data ingestion, transformation, and integration processes to ensure the availability of high-quality data for analysis.
  • Implement data quality checks and validation procedures to identify and resolve data anomalies or inconsistencies.
  • Work closely with data scientists and analysts to understand their data needs and provide support in accessing, manipulating, and analyzing data.
  • Optimize data processing and storage systems to improve performance and scalability.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data engineering and data science technologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Document data engineering processes, methodologies, and solutions for future reference and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with security teams to ensure data privacy and compliance with relevant regulations and policies.

Requirements:


  • CLEARANCE: Secret
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in data engineering, data analysis, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Hive.
  • Experience with data visualization tools and libraries (e.g., Tableau, D3.js) is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
