WeWe are looking for a highly talented Software Development Manager to lead the Learning & Development team based in Seattle.In this role:You will own the software development lifecycle overseeing the entire software development lifecycle, from requirement gathering and design to development, testing, and deployment.You will collaborate with cross-functional teams working effectively with product managers, designers, business, and other stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of features.You will be leading a passionate group of engineers in architecting and developing large scale distributed technology solutions and also innovating new ideas and providing technology directions to our business.You will champion best practices and innovation driving the adoption of best practices and emerging technologies within your team, promoting continuous improvement and innovation.You will communicate technical decisions and progress to both technical and non-technical audiences.You will work on engineers career plans and help them grow.Basic Qualifications7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience3+ years of engineering team management experience3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experienceKnowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operationsExperience partnering with product or program management teamsPreferred QualificationsExperience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategyExperience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineersAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
