Our next Cash Applications Manager will be responsible for providing daily, weekly, and monthly accounting and reporting for all bank activities including all bank reconciliations and change/coin orders as well as customer payments using debit cards. This will include month end support including balance sheet reconciliation, and process improvement in line with TerrAscend’s standard operating procedures. Manage, support, lead, and train cash staff.

The ideal candidate for this position will live in one of the states in our Northeast Business Unit (PA, MD, NJ). This role will be heavily remote with up to once per month onsite meetings at our King of Prussia, PA office.

To be blunt, this person will:
  • Monitor, record, and report on daily bank account activities including cash, debit card, and other deposits. Running reports from point of sale systems, debit card portals, and other payment portals. Reconcile all activities to what is hitting the bank accounts.
  • Coordinate with front like staff at various facilities to place change/coin orders and monitoring fulfillment.
  • Help with various royalty accruals and tax calculations including gross receipts tax, use and sales tax, business privilege taxes.
  • Assist the Accounts Receivable Manager and Senior Director, Accounting Operations in driving the Month-End Close process for multiple entities. Participates daily accounting department tasks. Prepares and/or reviews appropriate journal entries and accruals.
  • Ensures completeness and accuracy of all assigned accounts, databases, and files, including the completion and review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and income statement accounts.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team, and other internal departments to design, document, implement, and monitorprocessesthatestablishcontrols,ownership,andaccountabilityofinvolvedpartiesrelatedtoinventory management.
  • Work closely with accounts payable department, the purchasing department, and inventory management stakeholders concerning receiving issues, and the implementation of systems affecting inventory processing.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested. Responds timely to inquiries from external and internal customers.
  • Work closely with the regional accounting team, parent company accounting group, external auditors, and tax accountants during quarter and year end close to support reporting & regulatory requirements and provide financial commentary and supporting schedules as requested.

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in business or accounting.
  • 2 to4 years of progressive accounting experience. Public accounting experience , as well as corporate accounting experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing and/or Retail experience preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of U.S.GAAP
  • Experience or exposure to all areas of accounting including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash/revenue, fixed assets, accruals, reserves, inventory valuation, and intercompany eliminations. Understanding of the principles of inventory manufacturing processes, retail sales processes, sales and use tax, and public company audit compliance.
  • Provide support and training to accounting peers and other team leaders.
  • Experience working in a highly computerized environment and processing financial transactions using an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and/or accounting software. Epicor experience preferred.

  • Self-starter that places an emphasis on accuracy, completeness, and work product ownership, with the ability to prioritize and complete tasks with competing deadlines.
