Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Satellites)

Mechanical Engineer

At Cypress you will design, analyze, and enhance mechanical systems for satellites, and test equipment. You will also use CAD software for modeling, and conduct structural, thermal, and vibration analyses. You will also integrate and test spacecraft systems, while collaborating with other internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and modeling of spacecraft and payload hardware using SolidWorks.
• Perform structural, vibration, and thermal analyses for space hardware and systems.
• Support the integration, testing, and delivery of spacecraft/payload systems, including ground-based testing setups.
• Work with various engineering teams to ensure mechanical design aligns with overall system requirements.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for spacecraft and payload designs.
• Conduct bench-level work, including assembly and testing of electronic/mechanical hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Designing, integrating, or testing space hardware.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks, and experience with 3D printing.
• Knowledge of Thermal Desktop Tool is desired.
• Hands-on experience with hardware and electronics integration.
• Proficient with Microsoft Suite.
