Logistics Manager

Essential Duties:

• Manage Shipping and Receiving: Lead teams to ensure safety and efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards.
• International and Inbound Logistics: Coordinate all aspects of logistics, including managing transportation management systems (TMS) for customers.
• Budget Management: Responsible for the budgets of the Shipping and Receiving departments.
• Negotiation: Negotiate freight contracts with carriers to optimize costs and delivery times.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to company procedures, customer route guides, and logistics carrier requirements to minimize fines.
• Leadership: Oversee and guide a team, ensuring quality output, compliance with regulations, and adherence to company standards

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Strong problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Effective time management, planning, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions with accountability.
• Proficient in negotiating freight contracts and managing logistical challenges.
• Strong PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to handle frequent interruptions while maintaining a high level of focus.
• Capable of analyzing invoices, identifying errors, and resolving logistical issues.
• Proficient with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) Portals

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field; with 5+ years of experience in a similar role, including at least 3 years of direct management experience. OR
• 10+ years of equivalent work experience and responsibilities
