What you’ll do

You’ll be part of the team supporting our Investigations, Compliance & Privacy practice within Risk Advisory. Our Investigations, Compliance & Privacy practice applies accounting, financial and data analysis expertise and experience to assist our clients and address their critical issues. We work closely with AlixPartners’ experts to address complex issues in financial investigations including those involving financial statement fraud, asset misappropriation and corruption.

You will work on assessments of complex financial transactions for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (“GAAP”) and international financial reporting standards (“IFRS”). Your work will involve a wide range of activities, such as:

  1. Research and analyze factors including performing detailed financial analysis affecting litigation damages or valuation, including gaining an understanding of the industry or market at issue.
  2. Assist in developing and assessing projections and forecasts.
  3. Create financial models incorporating valuation theory, such as the development of discounted cash flow (DCF) models.
  4. Analyze financial transactions for possible fraud and compliance with GAAP or IFRS.
  5. Review audit working papers for compliance with professional standards.
  6. Communicate with clients and colleagues in written and oral form, including drafting expert reports and presentations to clients.
  7. Create and manage large data sets.
  8. Apply statistical analysis.
  9. Perform quality control review over work product.
  10. Organize documents and work papers, including preparation of supporting materials for litigation and valuation reports.

What you’ll need

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, mathematics, or related.
  2. Work or internship experience in a professional services firm providing dispute, litigation and/or valuation services preferred.
  3. Pursuit of professional certifications such as a Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Financial Analyst and Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor is viewed favorably.
  4. Well-developed analytical abilities.
  5. Ability to prepare, or ability to learn to prepare, financial models and cash flow analyses.
  6. Strong project management skills including the ability to manage multiple tasks, self-prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  7. Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently with an entrepreneurial attitude.
  8. A professional demeanor with strong communication and presentation skills.
  9. Ability and willingness to maintain a flexible work schedule in order to meet client needs.
  10. A positive and energetic attitude.
  11. Ability to work well under pressure.
  12. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint.
  13. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  14. Willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours, and in particular as unique projects/needs arise.
  15. Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.

The salary range for this role takes into account a number of factors and is between $80,000- $115,000 with potential eligibility for annual discretionary bonus.
