The Program Coordinator is responsible for building and maintaining programs' learning communities through recruitment of applicants, support of current students, and providing faculty and administrative support. The Program Coordinator is part of a matrix structure reporting to the Associate Director of Interdisciplinary Programs and the faculty program directors of the assigned academic programs. They are part of a team of Program Coordinators that collectively meet the needs of the 13 Interdisciplinary Studies Programs while having a specific program workload. Duties include but are not limited to:

  1. Oversee the day-to-day management and maintenance of successful programs.
  2. Manage outreach to prospective students, overseeing recruitment and admissions support to prospects and applicants.
  3. Handle academic affairs & student services to enrolled students, managing general financial & human resources accountabilities.
  4. Commit to creating an equitable and diverse community.
  5. Handle faculty support and general administrative operations for the program.

Work Interactions

This position reports to the Associate Director of Interdisciplinary Programs and will work closely with the faculty program directors in the day-to-day operation and all functional areas within the Graduate School Dean's Office. In addition, this position will work closely with faculty, prospective students, students, alumni, vendors/suppliers, industry connections, and many other audiences. The Program Coordinator will liaise with other Georgetown University offices such as Graduate Admissions, University Registrar, Office of Global Services, Main Campus Office of Academic Appointments, Student Financial Services and Financial Affairs and other academic units.

Requirements and Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree.
  2. Commitment to student success as part of an equitable and diverse community.

  4. Ability to build relationships through calls, correspondence, and events.
  5. Self-motivated; independent, organized, and proactive; highly responsive, flexible, and adaptable.
  6. Ability to think critically, reflect on projects and make intentional improvements.
  7. Ability to pick up new technology quickly and manage details.
  8. Experience managing multiple projects, tracking details and excellent time management.
  9. Understanding of appropriate and confidential communication, file management, and storage.
  10. Expertise with Google Apps, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  11. Experience with WordPress or other web editing tools, Banner/Cognos or other student information systems, Workday, and Slate or other student admissions software highly desired.

Work Mode Designation

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $44,022.00 - $73,406.80. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
