They will be responsible for working with vendors on new automation for current production and new products, cell layouts, Kaizen events, equipment specifications and continuous improvement activities. We are searching for a candidate with:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for the role.
- Minimum of 3 years in an industrial environment.
- Experience in Manufacturing (particularly Injection Molding and Extrusion).
- Background in Lean Manufacturing methodologies, including 5S, Kaizen, and Six Sigma.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong leadership and facilitation skills.
- Effective interaction with all levels within the organization.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to plan and prioritize personal workload effectively, create timing plans, and manage both internal and external demands.
- Proven track record of implementing Lean Manufacturing principles successfully.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
- Self-motivated with a commitment to manufacturing excellence.
- Experience with Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Experience with CAD software.
- The employee must occasionally sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequent lifting of up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds are required. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
A typical day may include:
- Lead safety initiatives and ensure compliance on new equipment
- Collaborate on new product development and equipment launches
- Conduct time studies and develop standardized processes
- Optimize product flow and drive continuous improvement
- Use data to enhance processes and design lean work cell layouts
- Implement standardized work and oversee maintenance programs
- Engage with customers, vendors, and ensure quality in processes
- Lead and monitor capital projects and assigned engineering tasks
- Ensure compliance with codes, QA/QC policies, and standards
- Liaise with plants and vendors, providing support as needed
- Assess safety hazards and guide on capital projects
- Draft technical documents, reports, and presentations
