About the role

An individual in this role should have experience in Defense Base Act and/or War Hazard legal practice and be prepared to handle War Hazard reimbursement files from referral to resolution, including but not limited to all phases and aspects of the investigation, pleadings, discovery, evaluation, reporting and compliance with litigation management guidelines. In addition, be prepared to assist with training and presentations to Claims, as well as various value-added tasks. As a Trial Attorney with Staff Counsel, you will also provide legal advice and representation to AIG and the insured while maximizing War Hazard reimbursement for Claims. This is a remote position.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Drafting legal papers, performing research, conducting depositions
  • Reporting on reimbursement progress and developments to AIG and our clients
  • Analyzing probable outcomes through knowledge and research of legal precedents

What we’re looking for:

The Ideal Candidate would possess the following:

  • Juris Doctorate Degree Required - Must be admitted and currently licensed to practice law in any State
  • 5+ years of Defense Base Act and/or War Hazard experience preferred
  • Experience with investigations, pleadings, discovery, evaluation/analysis and compliance with litigation management guidelines
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
