The Missouri Department of Transportation - SW District is seeking a Project Director for the development and administration of a major project on I-44 that will improve segments of the corridor from Joplin, MO to Conway, MO, within the SW District. Due to the expansive nature of this project, the reporting location may vary. Upon completion of the SW I-44 Project, if the selected candidate is internal, they will be transferred to a position comparable to their previous role.
The SW I-44 Project Director will be the lead in the procurement and administration of the design and construction contracts for the I-44 projects. Expected duties include developing an internal project team; supervising preparation of program documentation; providing technical expertise and design/constructability input; and resolving ongoing program issues. The SW I-44 Project Director has direct responsibility for the overall success of the project and supervises staff assigned to the MoDOT project team along with any owner engineer consultant activities.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree: Civil Engineering
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri.
- Eight years of progressive experience in engineering positions, including demonstrated ability to manage teams, multiple projects, and focus on several functional areas of engineering.
- Submission of supporting letter detailing your work history related to:

- Experience with innovative contracting

- Excellent communication skills, including public presentations
- Adept collaborator with ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external team members

- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to drive results from all the team through the duration of the project
- Efficiently and effectively manage the owner consultant for project needs
- Willingness to develop these qualities in self and team
