YOU

As the Director of Sales, you will provide leadership and direction to the entire branch sales team and selectively increase sales and profits to meet budget.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)

  1. Manage Sales Management Team and monitor and review sales team and processes. Drive strategy and short/long term goals. (40%)
  2. Lead, motivate and direct employees using effective performance management techniques, including establishing expectations and goals, providing recognition and feedback, and addressing performance problems. Coach, encourage, and develop employees according to their unique interests and strengths. Empower employees to take responsibility for their career and performance. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback. Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members and the organization. (30%)
  3. Plan periodic management review meetings with major customers. Monitor and review all special pricing programs. (15%)
  4. Provide sales training and observation. Plan and direct sales meetings. Attend and contribute to weekly and quarterly management meetings. (5%)
  5. Determine sales commissions and related compensation plans. Review and approve sales expenditures. (5%)
  6. Plan and execute promotions for the sales department. Oversee staffing and administer all performance-related issues for the sales team. (5%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 5-7 years related experience and/or training required.
  • 5 years managing others required.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to manage and resolve conflicts in a constructive manner.
  • Ability to hold self and others accountable for measurable, high-quality, timely, and cost-effective results.
  • Ability to recognize adverse customer reactions and develop better alternatives.
  • Ability to diligently attend to details and pursue quality in accomplishing tasks.
  • Ability to ensure staff have the skills and resources to get things done.
  • Ability to adapt leadership style to a variety of situations.
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, see, talk, and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in both a professional office environment, customer sites and outdoor construction job sites. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners, etc. The employee occasionally works around moving mechanical parts. Noise level may be loud at times.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

This job requires domestic/international travel approximately 50% of the time.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, exempt position is located in Stockton, CA.

RELOCATION

Relocation will be considered for this position.

PAY

$146,200.00 - $248,500.00/year
