Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a Practice Group Data Analyst to assist across practice groups with the development of business analyses utilizing technical platforms that allow case teams to gain an accurate, detailed, and nuanced understanding of data relevant to client matters and our clients' businesses.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Data Management & Analytics and Practice Group Data Analytics Team Lead, the Practice Group Data Analyst will be responsible for manipulating data and creating and analyzing complex data analyses, reports and supporting documents for attorneys, legal teams and clients related, but not limited to: Labor & Employment cases and Litigation cases.

This position may reside in either our Philadelphia, New York or Houston office and offers a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Works in a collaborative team environment to support attorneys and legal professionals on a wide variety of complex business and legal issues.
  • Accesses, parses, reviews, cleans and loads complex client matter data sets for analysis and reporting.
  • Develops advanced analyses and reports for client matters using analytical tools such as MS Excel, MS Access, SQL, Power BI, Qlik and other big data analytical tools.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and interprets trends using statistical techniques.
  • Generates questions and identifies issues based on supplied data sets.
  • Conducts complex calculations and creates visualizations related to client matter data for analysis and reporting.

Experience And Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university preferably in Data Science, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field, and minimum of 2 years of experience in developing analyses, visualizations and reports using analytics tools.
  • Basic knowledge of / proficiency in MS Excel, MS Access, MS SQL Server, Power BI or similar data analysis tools required.

For Jobs posted in New York, NY, the salary range for this job posting is $83,672.00 - $133,875.00.

The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
