Job Requirements / Description
The Security Supervisor Satellite Site Operations will:
- Select, monitor, and evaluate department employees. Be responsible for ensuring the service and image standards of the security department are maintained and improved upon.
- Mentor staff, as needed. Work in collaboration with the security company on-site account manager to ensure all contracted workers are in compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and the standards set forth in the service contract.
- Assist in monitoring weekly training reports to ensure all personnel meet their training requirements.
- Recommend action when necessary to ensure compliance with departmental & hospital standards as well as contractual obligations.
- Work in conjunction with the contract account manager for effective coordination.
- Ensure officers & supervisors comply with all training requirements, including induction training in accordance with departmental guidelines.
- Direct appropriate response to all incidents, including enlisting other departments and outside assistance. Conduct & coordinate hospital-wide drills, such as Active Shooter, Code Pink, Code Triage, Code Orange, Bomb Threats, and other drills specified by safety, Emergency Management, or other regulatory agencies (i.e., DPH, TJC, etc.).
- Work with Safety, Engineering, & other hospital departments to monitor & evaluate communication systems and incident response issues and develop effective communication.
- Evaluate the institution's security needs & provide recommendations for new or revised programs, policies, & procedures to enhance the effectiveness of security services.
- Assist in conducting thorough preliminary investigations & appropriate crime scene preservation.
- Prepare reports to assist management in determining further investigation, deployment of officers, installation of physical controls, & development of policies and procedures.
- Develop & teach training classes and in-services pertaining to security-related issues.
- Contribute to the ongoing effectiveness of hospital security by maintaining effective working relationships with managers and supervisors of all departments.
- Act as a liaison between the hospital and local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies in cases of crimes on company property or involving company employees.
- Serve as a liaison between other emergency management agencies as may be required to coordinate emergency preparedness and response.
- Respond to critical incidents to all satellite locations to include after business hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Complete assigned training or attain other specialized knowledge of access systems, camera systems, and communication systems.
- Complete special projects as assigned by the Security Manager or Security Director, including assistance with security investigations.
- Attend classes to enhance effectiveness as a Security Operations Supervisor as recommended by the Security Director.
To qualify you must have:
- Must have or be eligible to obtain certification from IAHSS for CHPA, as well as certified in Welle as an instructor.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, or a closely related field.
- 3 years of related experience.
- Exceptional leadership and motivational skills with which to create a dynamic and challenging work environment for all officers.
- Extensive knowledge of security protocol and procedures.
- Ability to train internal & external staff employees on security policies and procedures.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to work with confidential and classified information.
