Accounts Payable Data Entry Clerk Job Description

SUMMARY: We are seeking an Accounts Payable Data Entry Clerk to join our growing team at our Athens, GA headquarters. This position offers the ability to perform some work remotely, with a hybrid work schedule. This is an ideal position for an entry level candidate with excellent customer relations and communication skills. Growth opportunities available.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receive vendor invoices, match with the corresponding purchase orders and packing slips, and enter them in a timely manner
Enter subcontract pay apps, verifying all required documentation is received
Reconcile vendor statements, credit cards statements, and other accounts
Respond to inquiries from vendors
Ensure sales or use tax is properly coded on all invoices
Enter miscellaneous payments for accounting staff
Other similar duties as directed
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Excellent communication skills
Familiar with accounting concepts
Good math skills
Great attention to detail
Solves problems effectively
Well organized
Organized, motivated, and ability to work under deadlines.
Excellent oral and written skills and professional judgment.
High school diploma or equivalent; some accounting courses preferred.
Ability to work efficiently both independently and collaboratively with a team
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel
