Summary
This position is responsible for Managing the estimating team and workflows so that bids and pricing enquiries are responded to in a timely, competitive and professional manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide assistance and guidance to the team when completing bids to appropriately identify and quantify cost factors, such as:
- Transport
- Materials handling
- Inspection
- Storage and labor expenses
- Assist the team in appropriately identifying the scope of work, schedules and other technical documents in order to prepare estimates.
- Collaborate and foster relationships with subcontractors, clients and internal stakeholders.
- Recommend solutions that improve cost reductions and /or profitability.
- Monitor that the correct process and procedures are being followed.
- Maintain a database of historical and current pricing.
- Ensure that Cargowise is used for spot bids.
- Monitor that the quote register is updated and always maintained.
- Assist in the preparation of bids and estimates.
- Track our win/ loss ratio and maintain the same in Carowise and the quote register.
- Actively promote a culture of health and safety and participate in safety reviews and progress meetings.
- Create and develop an enjoyable working environment, promoting free thinking hard work and mile-stone delivery.
Educational background / Work experience
- A bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field is required.
- 3+ years of progressive experience in estimating
- Strong math and analytical skills

- This role typically involves managing employees within the pricing team, and support staff.
Language Skills
- Fluent in English (oral and written)
Computer Literacy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with logistics software and systems is required

For this position, the expected base pay is: $80,000 - $120,000 / Annual. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
