SUMMARY AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION:

The General Manager of Cannabis Distribution oversees daily operations, ensuring efficient, compliant, and profitable management. Responsibilities include logistics, supply chain, inventory control, and distribution to retail outlets, while adhering to all regulations. They manage teams, coordinate with suppliers and retailers, and drive strategic growth, maintaining compliance and safety standards.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develop and implement Distribution schedules.
  2. Manage and supervise staff.
  3. Maintain detailed records of all activities.
  4. Oversee all distribution center operations, ensuring timely and accurate product delivery to retail partners.
  5. Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with cannabis regulations.
  6. Manage inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to meet demand while optimizing costs.
  7. Lead, mentor, and develop distribution teams, ensuring high performance and accountability.
  8. Implement and monitor safety protocols to ensure a secure and compliant environment for employees and products.
  9. Drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency, product quality, and customer service.
  10. Collaborate with leadership to establish and meet financial targets and growth objectives.
  11. Stay informed of cannabis industry trends and regulatory updates to adapt strategies and maintain compliance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school diploma / GED
  2. A valid State issued Driver’s License
  3. Must be 21 years of age or older
  4. 3-5 years of management experience
  5. Willingness and flexibility to be available to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays as necessary
  6. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  7. Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
  8. Excellent organizational skills
  9. Ability to maintain strict standards of confidentiality
  10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  11. Strong computer skills Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  12. Ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision
  13. Successful experience working in a team setting
  14. Basic math skills
  15. Accurate data entry and record-keeping
  16. Ability to maintain a consistent teamwork mentality.
  17. Possesses professional appearance and attitude
  18. Attention to detail and results oriented

  20. Sensitive to Native American Culture
  21. Must successfully pass a background check
  22. Must successfully pass a drug test for all substances non-cannabis

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Experience and/or training in de-escalation and conflict resolution
  2. Ability to manage departmental budget and control labor costs
  3. Knowledge of customer marijuana policies, law, compliance, and regulations

  1. Ability to solve problems in a timely manner and deal with a variety of variables to arrive at solutions when no defined set of guidelines may exist

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   1. Uneven surfaces, stand/sit long periods of time, bending/stooping, or hard surfaces
  2. Required to wear PPE
  3. Working in a cultivation environment, which can include no natural light, varying temperatures, and louder than normal ambient noise
  4. May be required to work outdoors and/or during inclement weather.
  5. The individual is regularly called upon to deal with stressful situations and a high work volume
  6. The individual is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods of time

TRIBAL PREFERENCE:

INDIAN PREFERENCE STATEMENT:

Under CFR 25, Part 276 and by Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Section 701(b) and 703(i), preference in filling all vacancies provided to qualified Prairie Island Indian Community Tribal Members and/or other American Indian/Alaska Native candidates.
