Become a maker of possible with us.Job Responsibilities:Lead cross functional projects to improve labor efficiency, optimize product Quality, qualify replacement components, and reduce Manufacturing operating costs through Continuous Improvement Kaizen activities.Be adept in resolving and determining root cause of mechanical, optical, and electrical problems encountered in Production during the Assembly and Testing of instruments and capable of timely implementing effective solutions.Support New Production Development teams to transfer new products to Manufacturing while supporting the production of on-market products.Participate in Design Reviews of new products for Manufacturability and Testability.Evaluate, qualify new suppliers, and help develop Procedures & Processes for Assembly and Test procedures including designing required Tooling and Fixtures.Conduct Validation (IQ, OQ, PQ) and implement changes proposed by Suppliers.Help resolve Quality problems in Production from components/outsourced subassemblies from Contract Manufacturers/Suppliers.Perform failure analysis of non-conforming materials and provide solutions and recommendations to suppliers and internal customers.Conduct Process Validation in Manufacturing prior to official production release from NPI.Perform and document field failure investigations, identify root causes, and participate in corrective and preventive action effortsPromote a safe work environment. May provide recommendations on maintaining the safety of the work environment. Participates in Environmental, Health and Safety programs - Address corrective actions whenever a hazard is identified and notify supervisor of all observed hazardous conditions or unsafe work practices.Perform other related duties and assignments as requiredMinimum Requirements:Typically requires a BS degree: ME, EE, IE, Physics or equivalent4 + years’ experience working in a manufacturing and production environmentAble to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawingsMust have CAD experience, i.e., SolidWorksMust be able to develop Bills of Materials, and Manufacturing proceduresMust be able to train production assembly associates and test techniciansMust have extensive experience writing and reviewing Engineering Change OrdersMust have Excellent written, verbal communication skills, good interpersonal skillsMust be capable of resolving conflicts and interacting with Executive managementMust have strong project management and continuous improvement experience with cross functional teamsAble to assess and resolve multiple high visibility problems in a timely mannerAbility to be effective with minimal direction and recognize problems and address them without waiting to be instructed to do soMust be proficient with MS office, MS Power Point, MS Project, and VisioFamiliar with ISO 9001 and 13485 standardsWilling to travel when requiredDesirable Qualifications:M.S. degreeFamiliar with Manufacturing Execution Systems and test automationExperience resolving technical issues involving lasers and optical componentsFamiliar with Fluidic systems, machined parts, sheet metal, PCA’s, plastics, power systems, product packaging, and labelingStrong cGMP familiarity 21 CFR part 820, medical industry experienceExperience implementing Demand Flow Technology (DFT) processesExperience implementing LEAN manufacturing processes6 Sigma green or black beltFor certain roles at BD, employment is contingent upon the Company’s receipt of sufficient proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
