Role
As an Event Florist at Southside Blooms, you will be responsible for designing, creating, and arranging floral decorations for various events, including weddings, corporate functions, and parties, and other special occasions. This includes transportation of products to/from events. You will work closely with clients to understand their vision and preferences, ensuring that each event's floral arrangements reflect their unique style and theme while aligning with our eco-friendly practices.
Your Core Contributions To The Team

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their floral needs, preferences, and budget.
  • Design and create custom floral arrangements, including bouquets, centerpieces, and other decorative elements.
  • Ensure all floral arrangements are fresh, visually appealing, and meet high-quality standards.
  • Set up and dismantle floral decorations at event venues, ensuring timely and efficient delivery and removal.
  • Work with event planners and other vendors to coordinate overall design and theme.
  • Mentor and guide youth involved in the event, sharing floral design techniques and work ethics.
  • Stay up to date with the latest floral design trends.
  • Provide excellent customer service and build strong relationships with clients.
About You
Knowledge, abilities, and qualifications
  • Proven experience as a florist or floral designer, preferably in an event setting.
  • Creative and artistic ability with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical stamina to handle and transport floral arrangements.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
  • Experience working with clients and large-scale events.
  • Knowledge of different flower types, seasonal availability, and floral care techniques.

All The Other Stuff
This is a full-time position, requiring 8 hour shifts that occur Monday through Friday, including evening shifts and/or weekend shifts as needed. Overtime may be required.
