Job Summary

The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager will oversee the activity of the quality assurance department and staff, developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality and reliability testing for the organization's products and/or development processes. QA deliverables and management involve the production and supervision of all outputs associated with Quality Assurance (QA) processes. These may include test plans, test cases, bug reports, and QA Metrics, among others.

Department Description

The Integrated Applications Group is within the Clinical Systems Department. The team consists of 5 groups including Technology Apps, Departmental Apps, Customer Engagement Apps, Application Security and Application Testing/QA. The Integrated Applications team is involved in the design, building, testing, and implementation of clinical application systems. The team provides support to clinical users through knowledge of clinical processes, documentation needs, workflows, and clinical practice standards, when adapting software to meet their needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • Typically 2-5 years of experience managing an information technology organization.
  • Familiar with Unified Functional Testing (UFT) automation scripts.
  • Completed Eggplant developer certification.
  • Demonstrated skill in managing technical staff.
  • Experienced in leading change management activities and managing their impact across the unit or department.
  • Experience of analyzing buy vs. build procurement for products for effective and efficient technology use.
  • Uses and applies advanced quality assurance principles, theories and concepts to manage functional area(s) and provide quality assurance recommendations and solutions.
  • Requires knowledge of policies and procedures and the ability to determine a course of action based on these guidelines.
  • May be called upon to initiate quality improvements and clearly understand the needs and concerns of the user groups in the organization and apply knowledge to better meet those needs.
  • Thorough knowledge of the subject area is sufficient for strategic planning, technology assessment, and direction.
  • Experience in the management of ongoing technology infrastructure acquisition and expansion, including the identification and integration of suitable emerging technologies.
  • Thorough knowledge of technical concepts and basic operating principles of data communications, computer hardware, vendor IT products, and software.
  • Ability to understand the process involved in adapting, integrating, and modifying existing programs or vendor-supplied products for use within the technical environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively present technical topics to individuals and groups with potentially varied levels of technical sophistication.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of service delivery principles.
  • Strong experience with developing and implementing solutions with industry-leading automation systems.
