Position Summary:

Under the guidance of the Regional Director of Campus and Student Services, or their designee, the campus director plays a pivotal role in supporting the campus's recruitment and admissions initiatives. This role also leads the student services functions to enhance the overall candidate experience, bolster student retention, and drive graduation success. Key responsibilities encompass Recruitment, Admissions, Student Advising, Campus Operations, Accessibility Services, International Student Advising, Tutoring, Military/Veterans Affairs, Orientation, Commencement & Community Activities, and resolving student issues. The Campus Director will oversee daily operations and serve as the primary decision-maker for local management and overseeing campus activities. This position may also supervise onsite IT, facilities and other support roles and shares a reporting relationship with other campus staff, including those in Admissions and Financial Aid, within a matrix environment.

Starting Salary: $75,000 annualized, exempt position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Master’s degree in education, Counseling or Management or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: Five (5) years of progressively responsible higher education or closely related professional experience, preferably in graduate or professional education. Supervision experience of professional staff required. Demonstrated success in leading teams of diverse employees as well as experience with enlivening and fostering a climate that values and embraces all forms of human diversity.

Skills:

  1. Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (especially, Word & Excel), CARS, CX integrated database or equivalent databases.
  2. Supervision skills needed as well as advanced advising skills, effective organization and written and oral communication skills, substantial teaching and advising skills.
  3. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (both in writing and verbally) with a diverse student, faculty and community is essential.
  4. Sensitivity to cultural diversity and ability to communicate and interact effectively with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds.
  5. The position requires multi-tasking abilities, exceptional interpersonal/cross-cultural communication skills.
  6. A high degree of multicultural and international competency.
  7. The ability to organize and plan work, and the ability to complete tasks with accuracy and meet deadlines.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. The Campus Director is responsible for the operational effectiveness, growth and successful day-to-day operation of the assigned campus, provides leadership, oversight, and management for IT and facilities.
  2. Provide leadership, oversight and management for developing programs and services which support the University’s vision of the recruitment, enrollment, retention, and graduation of students.
  3. Help to facilitate seamless integration of the student experience from the point of admission through transfer assessment and registration, course enrollment, and course/degree completion.
  4. Serves as the key person for the delivery of academic and student support services including student Advising, Accessibility Services, International Student Advising, Tutoring Military/Veterans Affairs, Orientation, Commencement, and student issue resolution.
  5. Serves as the Student Advisor for students enrolled at the Campus and uses independent judgement to monitor students’ academic success through ongoing outreach, advising meetings, and daily monitoring of attendance list, non-financially cleared (NFC) list, and non-registered list. Assists students with registration, study plans, degree audits, transfer evaluation, advancement to candidacy, tuition payments, and financial aid resources.
  6. Develop, implement, and monitor a proactive advising and appreciative advising model to support student success.
  7. In partnership with the campus community, implement and execute the Net Promoter Score action plan to improve student success (i.e., retention, persistence, and graduation rates) and enhance student satisfaction.
  8. Problem solving for student issues and concerns. May serve as the student services liaison to SERC (Student Evaluation and Review Committee). Responsible for the implementation of student conduct procedures.
  9. Lead and facilitate a customer-centered environment that is responsive and provides high-quality, timely services to students; Assist program directors and faculty in the ongoing improvement of program related operating processes, procedures, and protocols, to operationalize and maintain academic standards.
  10. Ensure Human Resources policies and procedures are upheld to assure compliance with the federal and state regulations, university policies, and collective bargaining agreements.
  11. Perform other related tasks, duties and responsibilities as required, assigned or directed.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Direct Reports: Advisor(s), IT/Facilities Coordinator, Campus Resource Coordinator, Security, Student Assistants and other campus support roles.

Indirect Reports: The following campus positions report to the Campus Director, Student Advisor in a matrix relationship with the functional leadership of the University: Admissions and Financial Aid. Consults with and provides support to library staff.

Contact Responsibility:

Internal: Interacts with supervisor to receive direction and instructions and/or review of work results. This position will work closely with colleagues in multiple departments including Academic Deans, campus-based Program Directors, Associate Provosts, Human Resources and IT Departments as well as other University Campus Managers/Directors to support both students and colleagues in achieving student success and Department goals. Consults with and provides support to library staff.

External: Interacts with other academic institutions and members of the local community.
