Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the agency’s compliance with applicable housing regulations, policies and procedures by regularly creating or reviewing a variety of reports, files and documents, and identifying and recommending risk management strategies.
- Maintain the agency’s compliance with ongoing audit requirements by helping identify areas of concern, conduct internal investigations, file reviews and collect supporting documentation.
- Monitor and evaluate existing action plans for audits such as Rental Integrity Monitoring, Section Eight Measurement Assessment Program and Public Housing Assessment System.
- Manage and evaluate the Public and Indian Housing-Public Information Center data in comparison to local software data.
- Recommend opportunities for improvements in operational efficiency by regularly analyzing program data and reports, interviewing staff to determine actual operational procedures and methods and reviewing departmental processes and procedures.
- Improve and maintain program integrity by researching, analyzing and organizing information on work-related processes, developing reports and making recommendations for updates.
- Identify and report trends, offer support and guidance and direct the implementation of solutions.
- Conduct management reviews; monitor staff caseloads and customer satisfaction of services.
- Meet regularly with department leadership and staff.

- Intuitive technology skills with expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and report writing.
- Knowledge of agency organization, operations, policies, procedures, regulations, codes and public housing admission and occupancy requirements.
- The ability to interpret and apply relevant standards, procedures and applicable Federal rules and regulations.
- Cost effective management of allocated resources.
- Assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks.
- Coaching and improving staff performance.
- Skill working under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with people from all backgrounds.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration or a related field.
- Four (4) years of related social or program management experience.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Housing Specialist certification required within 6 months (ongoing updated certifications will be required).
- Valid Texas State Driver’s License.
