Manager, Finance BioLife

OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE

  • Act as key finance business partner for BioLife functions
  • Assist in the financial planning processes
  • Work closely with assigned functions to understand their business requirements and provide strategic guidance.
  • Ad hoc financial modeling

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • This position supports the financial planning, month-end reporting, and analysis of US BioLife with a primary/direct focus on the US 3rd Party Purchases, US Inventory Management of plasma (including System knowledge with std costing, oversight of plasma counts at centers each FY, knowledge of inventory movement for BioLife and understanding/analysis of inv variances monthly).
  • The position liaises with the US Finance Lead and functional business partners to establish financial controlling, create quarterly business cycle forecasts, oversee period closes and reporting, and perform ad hoc analyses related to business performance and new initiatives/projects.
  • The US Finance Lead serves as the primary point of contact (POC) for the functions it supports and indirectly for any other functions that tangentially intersect them.
  • Direct Management of a Senior Financial Analyst is possible based on experience level.
  • Ownership and Management of CPL Spend Categories (including categories with $80M+ of spend annually and multiple drivers within category, i.e. Softgoods).
  • Support of any ad hoc modeling that may be needed for BioLife projects (including Transformation related).

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
  • At least 5 years of experience in financial analysis, planning, corporate accounting and operations accounting, inventory management and operating expenses.
  • Experience with management reporting, financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Understanding of moderately complex accounting concepts, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), lease accounting standards, IFRS, and SOX.
  • High proficiency in financial analysis methods, tools, and concepts to prepare forecasts and perform analyses.
  • Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven skills in developing and managing staff.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated business impact in previous roles.
  • Proven ability to work effectively across an organization with multiple functional areas.
  • Ability to work successfully in a dynamic fast-paced organization and identify and resolve operational issues.
  • Strong computer software skills (Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SAP, TM1 and C3ME.
  • Experience working in a pharmaceutical or healthcare setting is preferred.
