Scope Of This Position
Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Director of Group & Entertainment Sales will focus on educating corporate and entertainment travel professionals and travel managers on L’Ermitage Beverly Hills, moving market share from our competitors, and uncovering new business with travel to Los Angeles and Beverly Hills. Through effective relationship building and account management they will deliver the highest levels of guest service and will ensure ongoing client satisfaction. They will be a creative, energetic, and knowledgeable professional, and will be fundamental to the ongoing success of the hotel. The market's focus will be group & entertainment but may encompass other corporate accounts.
General Responsibilities Include
- Works collaboratively with the sales team to ensure sales efforts are coordinated and not duplicated.
- Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings. Activities include but are not limited to sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, tradeshows etc.
- Develop relationships within the community to strengthen and expand customer base for sales opportunities.
- Entertain clients and hotel guests on property as directed by the Director of Sales.
- Manages and develops relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Participates in sales calls, phone solicitation/prospecting, market analyses to acquire new business and/or close on business.
- Executes and supports operational aspects of business booked (i.e., generating proposal, writing contract and customer correspondence).
- Identifies new business opportunities in both corporate transient and corporate group to achieve personal and sales organization goals.
- Understands the overall market-competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, competitor positioning to shift market share and optimize profitability of business.
- Establish themselves as a subject matter expert; serves the customer by understanding their business, business issues, and concerns to offer better business solutions. Supports the company’s service and relationship strategy, driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.
- Provides excellent customer service consistent with the daily service of the company.
- Interacts with guest to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
- Works collaboratively with the Sales and Marketing team to promote initiatives.
- Submit weekly activities reports.
- Log activities, contacts, and communication in Delphi FDC.
- Initiate and execute group sales agreements on the company’s behalf, in alignment with property standards.
- Facilitate and foster relationships with local and national corporate accounts as well as uncover opportunities for new business.
- Cultivate relationships with luxury corporate travel partners both domestic and international and participate and conduct relevant FAM trips.
- Initiate individual and group resumes to ensure a seamless guest experience by communicating key information to internal department stakeholders.
Skills/Knowledge Required
- A complete understanding forecasting, selling, and the LA/Beverly Hills Comp set.
- Highly motivated individual who can work independently.
- Ability to handle confidential information discretely and in the proper manner.
- Self-starter, and possess excellent presentation skills.
- Proven track record of successful sales history.
- Opera and Salesforce/Delphi.FDC knowledge preferred.
Qualification Standards
Education: 4-year bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management or related major preferred.
Experience: Minimum 5 years sales experience in luxury hotel environment with Forbes 5-star hotel experience preferred.
Grooming: All colleagues must maintain a neat, and well-groomed appearance (specific standards will be provided).
Travel Requirements: This Sales position has a requirement for business travel.
