Customer Service Representative - Automotive Aftermarket Role

This position is responsible for an assigned group of customer accounts. The responsibilities include handling request for quotations, order maintenance, expediting orders, and forecasting. Has a good working knowledge of internal order and forecasting systems (RAS) as well as other related systems. Is customer focused and interfaces with customers and various departments to meet customer requirements. Must be capable of working under limited supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and manages incoming emails, EDI, and phone calls from assigned customers and responds in a timely manner.
  • Maintenance of customer part numbers, demand forecast, and price lists as necessary.
  • Processes orders, which may include working with other departments to have stock released, to have global stock transferred, or to order product.
  • Collaborate with the internal material planning department (BCD) to locate appropriate products either in the U.S. or global warehouses as necessary.
  • Actively monitors and addresses lack of supply issues on open orders, including weekly reports of backlog status and daily examination of shipping reservations.
  • Prepares and sends sales quotes, monitors status of existing orders, expedites shipments, and addresses any customer service or product return issues.
  • Demonstrates basic technical knowledge of bearing nomenclature and ability to interchange competitor's part numbers.
  • Offers product substitutions when appropriate.
  • Occasionally collaborates with the salespersons on customer meetings via teleconference.

Qualifications

  • This job requires a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferred Technical Diploma or Associate's Degree in a related field and 2 to 4 years of position-related experience.
