The Senior Network Administrator role is responsible for maintaining the Bank’s Network and Telecommunications infrastructure, which includes the routers, switches, and firewalls, with supporting responsibility of phone systems, voicemail and communications (call) manager. This role participants in disaster discussions and scenario testing to scrutinize recovery methods and look for improvements. This role performs, as needed, physical equipment installation, removal, upgrades, and performance monitoring. This role collaborates with the Information Security Team in the overall secure administration of these systems. This role will assist in developing and implementing architecture strategies to accommodate current and future organizational needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Cisco and Fortinet devices across all banking center locations and establish secure connectivity to bank managed data centers.
- Develop and maintain as built network diagrams and documentation.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues.
- Implement security features and protocols to protect against threats and vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SD-WAN solutions with existing network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and VPNs.
- Coordinate with third party telecommunication and circuit providers to troubleshoot breakdowns and perform necessary maintenance.
- Conduct testing and validation of network device configurations to verify functionality, performance, and compatibility with different network environments.
- Responsible for submitting change control requests, providing verbal explanation of potential impacts to the bank’s formal Change Advisory Board (CAB), and receiving approvals prior to implementing any changes on the network and telecommunication infrastructure.
- Compliance with any and all BSA/AML/CFT and Sanctions requirements set forth by Bank Policy and Procedure, including but not limited to timely completion of assigned training.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
These specifications are guidelines based on the minimum experience required to perform the essential functions of the job. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Certification preferred (Fortinet and/or Cisco Certified Professional), or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 6+ years of work experience, with emphasis on Cisco Systems technologies, Fortinet is a plus.
- A strong background in network engineering, with proven experience and success with enterprise-level LAN, WAN technologies, with solid understanding of routing protocols (EIGRP, BGP).
- Experience with IDF Rack and Stack installations and experience with cabling and cable dressing.
- Comfortable with performing physical equipment installations and doing software upgrades relating to network.
- Proven experience with network security principles, and general network management best practices
- Knowledge of SND (software-defined networking) principles and technologies, including ZTNA.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Valid driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage
- Preferred, but not required:
- Working knowledge of Bank operations.
- Experience with Cisco voice (CUCM, UNITY, and CCX) technologies.
