The Global Security Initiatives Strategy Director will be responsible to direct and manage activities for Global Security related to the establishment of programs and policies that support the strategic goals of the corporation, division and group. Responsibilities include policy development and planning, site security risk assessment programs, Resolution and Recovery Planning, security measures and metrics, security program governance oversight, as well as internal and external reporting requirements and forward looking strategies to maintain a best in class security program. Provides consulting to employees, business units and corporate functions associated to the mitigation of security and life/safety risks. Performs work independently within established guidelines and practices. Consults with manager where clarification or exceptions to Corporate Policy may be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive and execute strategy in Global Security by establishing, maintaining and growing strong relationships and partnerships with key areas (TPRM, Policy, Compliance, etc.), ensuring delivery of high quality service and maintenance and evolution of strong solutions within Global Security as a foundation for future growth.
  • Execute oversight of Global Security ensuring best practices are shared and observed, and that all entities meet legal entity and corporate governance standards.
  • Work with functional leadership and program managers as appropriate to ensure that our programs perform an excellent level of service, taking local ownership of significant client-related projects as appropriate (e.g. remediation program).
  • Work with leadership to develop and actively manage a pipeline of new talent. Ensure Global Security meets operational risk management and local regulatory requirements and expectations, especially concerning outsourcing and any emerging issues signaled by the regulator. Drive employee engagement and related initiatives across all locations to attain corporate expectations and advocate for actions that enhance the employer value proposition including measures that enhance Security for all employees in a respectful manner.
  • Develop and enhance Global Security strategy through relevant dialogue and industry forums.
  • Represent State Street in the business community and in industry organizations, ensuring our profile and reputation are enhanced.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork.
  • Sound judgment, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of related experience within the financial services industry including time spent managing in an executive capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex transformation/remediation programs.
  • Relevant regulated financial service expertise, with an understanding of challenges of running a large-scale transformation program.
  • Managed cross-border teams based over multiple locations, additional points for experience with strong connectivity to the regulators.
  • Extensive experience in managing large, complex third parties, who are critical to the success of the program.
  • Bachelors/Master’s degree in business or relevant work experience is highly preferred.
  • Extensive, in-depth relevant experience in program management, including experience of leading multi-year, cross-functional or enterprise-wide programs within security.
  • Exceptional understanding of standards-based program management and business analysis practices (Agile/Six-Sigma/Lean), with demonstrable skills in program and project management tools and methodologies.
  • Strong project planning skills and expertise in large, complex program management, across multiple work-streams; releases and complex data migrations.
  • Extensive background in executing change; understanding of the regulatory landscape and emerging themes is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of process-based business management and risk and controls.
  • CPP or other security certification is a plus.

Salary Range:

$130,000 - $205,000 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
