Senior Data Engineer

WHO YOU ARE

As a Senior Data Engineer , you will play a crucial role in shaping our data infrastructure and strategy. You will be responsible for leading a team of data engineers, designing and implementing robust data solutions, and ensuring the scalability and reliability of our data system. This role is perfect for a dynamic leader passionate about leveraging data to make impactful decisions.

Furthermore:

  1. You bring 7 – 12+ years of experience in data engineering designing, implementing and maintaining efficient data platforms.
  2. You have experience in leading and mentoring a team of data engineers, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  3. You have demonstrated experience in migrating on-premises data to cloud and setting up stable, scalable frameworks.
  4. You have strong understanding of data modeling techniques and experience in designing data models for cloud data warehouses and OLTP applications.
  5. You have advanced proficiency in Python for data processing and automation.
  6. You have strong understanding of relational database concepts and have experience with performance tuning techniques.
  7. You have hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and services, preferably Azure, as it relates to data integration/migration.
  8. You have experience with Kafka and CDC tools for real-time data synchronization.
  9. You have familiarity with BI tools and technologies for creating reports and dashboards.
  10. You have understanding of REST APIs and how to use them in practice.
  11. You have experience with continuous integration and collaboration tools like Azure ADO, GitHub and Confluence.
  12. You have exposure to writing UNIX/LINUX scripts.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a partner on the Wealth Passport Development Team, you will be an integral part of one of our nimble and agile cross-functional teams innovating an entire industry. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will:

  1. Work with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver technical solutions, mentoring on best practices.
  2. Constantly look for better ways of solving technical problems and designing the solution.
  3. Work with other developers on the team, specifically with code reviews and pair programming.
  4. Decipher existing software systems and platforms and hook in applications to applicable data sources.
