We have a great opportunity for a Benefits Analyst with our top ranked global law firm client. This is a hybrid role and can be based in the New York of Los Angeles office locations. This role offers a competitive base and excellent growth potential in a top ranked global law firm.
The Benefits Analyst researches, analyzes, evaluates and administers all health and welfare programs. This position will also assist with administering leaves of absence, retirement and other compliance related programs as needed. This role will support talent management objectives to drive engagement, education and client service excellence.
This position may sit in our New York or Los Angeles office.
The Benefits Analyst will report to the Benefits Manager.What You'll Do:

  • Provides subject-matter expertise and support for the administration of the core U.S. and International health and welfare, leave of absence and retirement plans;
  • Assists with leaves of absence administration, worker's compensation, and compliance programs;
  • Responds to benefit inquiries regarding plan provisions, enrollments, status changes, and other general inquiries;
  • Supports member education and participation campaigns in all program and plan offerings, including open enrollment projects, working with vendors/brokers consultants to manage project plans, employee communications, presenting plans to all employees, gathering and analyzing data, and preparing recommendations;
  • Serves as liaison with third-party vendors to provide prompt assistance in resolving benefit-related issues;
  • Identifies and recommends improvements to current processes to ensure that overall performance is aligned with business objectives and metrics;
  • Assists with the execution of system changes (e.g., testing updates, new configurations), identify reoccurring issues and partner with colleagues to implement customer service oriented solutions;
  • Acts with a high degree of integrity, professionalism and discretion handling confidential employee information;
  • Exercises good judgment at all times with respect to data privacy, security and all Firm policies and procedures;
  • Work beyond scheduled hours as required, especially at year-end;
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Business preferred or equivalent professional work experience in Human Resources or Benefits and Absence Management;
  • At least three years of Health and Welfare and Leaves Administration experience;
  • Employee Benefits Specialist certification (CEBS) or Professional in Human Resources certification (PHR), a plus;
  • Fundamental to advanced knowledge of benefits and employment/leave of absence related laws, regulations and practices; (i.e. COBRA, HIPAA-HITECH, Section 125, qualifying family events, PPACA, ADAAA, FMLA, CFRA, PDLL, OSHA, Worker's Compensation, ERISA, 401(k), 415);
  • Advanced knowledge of customer-service principles;
  • Fundamental knowledge of general payroll concepts and proficiency in payroll systems (i.e. ADP);
  • Fundamental proficiency in Workday (preferred) or other HCM systems;
  • Advanced computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications is required;
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills;
  • Fundamental to advanced time-management skills, with proactive and client service oriented mindset; and
  • Must be a collaborative team member and progressive thinker with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects/tasks from inception to completion in a fast-paced changing environment.
