The Job
The Manager, Pharmacy Analytics plays a critical role in driving informed decision-making, optimizing pharmacy operations, and improving patient outcomes through the strategic use of data and analytics.
The incumbent will leverage data to drive insights and strategies within the pharmacy department. This individual will be responsible for leading a team of analysts to gather, analyze, and interpret data related to Pharmacy benefit, formulary, patient outcomes, prescription trends, and financial performance. Additionally, the manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven initiatives that support the organization's overall goals and objectives.
You Will
The Manager, Data Analytics (aka Manager, Pharmacy Analytics) will lead a team of analysts in collecting, organizing, and analyzing healthcare data from various sources, including electronic health records, claims databases, and internal and external systems.
Develop and maintain robust data models, dashboards, and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to pharmacy operations, medication adherence, patient outcomes, and financial metrics.
Conduct in-depth analyses to identify trends, drivers, patterns, and opportunities for improvement in pharmacy services, medication utilization, and cost-effectiveness.
Collaborate with pharmacy leadership to define analytics priorities, set performance targets, and establish metrics for measuring success.
Support regulatory compliance efforts by working with internal and external audit teams on providing data for various audits. Stay informed about industry trends, advancements in pharmacy informatics, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance analytical capabilities and drive innovation.
Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders through presentations, reports, and data visualization tools to facilitate data-driven decision-making at all levels of the organization.
Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance on analytical techniques, best practices, and professional growth opportunities. Provide oversight and management for projects and analytic activities within the team.
Collaborate with department leadership to anticipate and understand changes in the pharmacy landscape, including, but not limited to, changes in regulations, benefit administration, and quality-related operations.
Lead and/or facilitate quantitative analysis to identify opportunities to enhance programs and processes improving quality of care, cost, and/or utilization.
The Manager, Data Analytics (aka Manager, Pharmacy Analytics) will develop a high functioning team in order to effectively execute the plans developed by the department and organization. Oversee projects/plans from inception to completion.
Facilitate IT Portfolio Requests for the department.
Accomplish staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching and counseling employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
Maintain knowledge and understanding of industry and technology trends through literature reviews, participation in webinars/conferences, and review of regulatory and policy guidance.
Actively support the achievement of SCAN’s Vision and Goals.

Your Qualifications
Preferred, but not required: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Healthcare Administration, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field; or Master’s Degree preferred in a related field, with an emphasis on quantitative analysis and process design/improvement.
A comparable combination of education/experience and/or training will be considered equivalent to the education listed above.
3-5 years of related experience in healthcare analytics, pharmacy informatics, or a related field.
2-3 years of demonstrated management and leadership experience.
2+ years of prior managed care experience with Part D at a pharmacy benefit manager or health plan.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.
Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and data integrity.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Ability to appropriately maintain confidentiality.
Proficiency in understanding and implementing business workflows, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Knowledge of CMS requirements and quality improvement initiatives.
Strong understanding and experience with Health IT – specifically, clinical interoperability and pharmacy data management including, but not limited to, pharmacy claims, prescription drug events (PDE), industry drug databases, and formulary data.
Strong understanding of pharmacy financial data.
