Position Summary
We're searching for a Benefits Administrator who will assist the Benefits Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of the Company’s benefits programs including health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, travel and accident plan, flexible spending plans and retirement plans. The Benefits Administrator will also contribute to the Company’s Wellness Program and help administer the Company’s charitable giving initiatives.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Company’s benefit offerings; effectively and clearly communicate information regarding benefits verbally and in written responses to team members
  • Respond to routine benefit plan inquiries via email, the HR ticket system and Benefits mailbox in a timely manner; research items
  • Process benefit life event changes; collect supporting documentation; follow up as needed
  • Troubleshoot system related new hire benefit enrollment issues and provide appropriate solutions
  • Process benefit changes in the HRIS system and ensure changes are made appropriately monitoring pre-payroll reports; attend biweekly payroll meeting
  • Process benefit programs uploads and updates to databases to various providers
  • Assist with processing of medical support notice requirements and other compliance requirements; maintain benefits compliance calendar
  • Conduct COBRA audit; assist with COBRA issues
  • Assist with renewal and open enrollment processes
  • Assist with creating and maintenance of benefits process documentation
  • Assist with review of approval of benefit plan vendor invoices; provide reconciliation documentation
  • Process and maintain documentation for tuition and other reimbursements/401k hardship withdrawals
  • Review and provide corrections from feedback reports from file feeds
  • Assist with maintenance of Benefit pages on the Company’s intranet and Airbo
  • Conduct Benefits orientation, 401k overview class coverage as needed
  • Administer transportation and Lifestyle account programs
  • Collect and provide documentation for update of the HR benefits budget
  • Assist with 401k audit, Non-discrimination testing for 401k and FSA plans
  • Maintain benefit contact information and benefits collateral
  • Assist with appropriate branding of marketing materials/PowerPoint presentations
  • Preparation of presentations for educational purposes; creation how to documents
  • Assist with requests for information from benefits broker and vendors
  • Assist with obtaining and distributing Berkshire branded products to team members
  • Assist with special projects as assigned by the Benefits Manager and HR Leadership team
  • Consistently demonstrate use of tact and discretion
Knowledge/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree required with a focus in Human Resources or related field; demonstrated interest in career within Human Resources and benefits management; prior experience or internship within a Human Resources department preferred
  • Aptitude for organizing, prioritizing, and managing multiple priorities, using critical thinking and problem solving
  • Demonstrated multi-modal communication style that reaches every stakeholder, specifically excellent verbal, and written communications
  • Ability to communicate with and manage up to senior management
  • Collaborative working style with inclusive work and thinking behaviors, commitment to excellence in teams and work product, with a strong work ethic
  • Demonstrate emotional intelligence in high pressure and sensitive situations
  • Tenacity, patience, and perseverance to work with business deals from beginning to end of process

Technical/Educational Requirements:
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to use and learn new technology (e.g., computers/hardware, mobile, software, cloud-based programs)
  • Proficiency with computers, keyboards, monitors and telephone headsets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite of Products (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams, Power Point)
